Mario DiGirolamo joined the Tuxedo Physiotherapy team in 2013 when it first opened its doors and has remained a trusted, loyal and hard working team member. We are thrilled to have Mario on the team as he is a highly skilled Registered Massage Therapist with over twenty years of experience.
Mario’s career path began in 1994 when he knew he wanted to work in a health care setting, but was unsure which career path to follow. Anna DiMarco encouraged Mario to explore the option of a massage therapy career. In 1994, Mario took an introduction weekend course with the Professional Institute of Massage Therapy to determine if massage therapy was the correct career path. Mario was hooked and enrolled in the full time 2 year (2200 hour) diploma program and graduated in 1997.
Since graduating in 1997, he explored his profession in both clinical and spa settings and quickly recognized his talents and interests were best served in providing therapeutic style treatments with a multi-disciplinary health care team. Mario enjoys treating a variety patients and he says he will treat anyone who needs it.
Mario has relentlessly pursued continuing education with a particular interest in myofascial release techniques, cranial sacral treatment, instrument assisted techniques and cupping. Mario was also honoured to attend the 3rd International Fascia Congress in 2012 in Vancouver. Mario completed the L.A.S.T. (Ligamentous Articular Strain Technique) Shoulder course in 2019 in Winnipeg and is currently working on the hip and pelvis course with the same organization.
The bi-annual education sessions at Tuxedo Physiotherapy have also been great learning experiences to collaborate as a health care team.
Mario continues to share his knowledge with the team and continues to grow as a clinician. The team is thrilled to have Mario on the team as Senior Massage Therapist. He has provided numerous mentoring sessions to new team members at the clinic.
He is as passionate about his profession as he is about providing individualized care to his patients and this has led him to serve as a member on the Board of the Massage Therapy Association of Manitoba.
In his spare time, Mario loves to honour his Italian upbringing with good food, good people and good wine. He enjoys an active lifestyle and spending time with his family. He loves to fish and watch hockey and soccer.
We are eternally grateful to have Mario on our team, working hard alongside us.
